| MUSIC
FOR A WHILE is an ensemble that consists
of some of the finest Norwegian jazzmusicians. The ensemble
was established in 2004, devoted to playing the music of the
great composer Kurt Weill. Since its establishment, the ensemble
has had numerous concerts with great success and they have made
more and more people in Norway interested in the music of Kurt
Weill. The autumn 2007 they will travel throughout Norway playing
concerts with the music of Kurt Weill. They release their debut
cd on Grappa, Weill Variations, October 8 2007.
The ensemble plays
the music of Kurt Weill from both his German, French and American
period. The music they play is written between the end of
the 1920’ till the end of the 1940’. MUSIC
FOR A WHILE wants to give the music of Kurt Weill
their personal touch, though never without the highest respect
of the composer. The music of Kurt Weill is however, so brilliant
that still in a more moderne variation, it sparkles just as
much.
